Watermark

Verse 1:
I don’t need water to make ink bleed
I don’t need anguish to tear my hopes and dreams
I don’t need paper to be coined celebrity
And I don’t need a fairy tale to live evermore happily

I am a loyal instigator and I love everyone
I am a royal creator and my charity has just begun
I wanna change the universe, we don’t need imperial kings
I wanna shred our possessions first, and stain the material things

Chorus:
A faded statement torn apart
A paper copy of our hearts
A ticket to dance in the dark
Now it’s just a watermark

There’s hope inside that’s still unscarred
A memory we can’t discard
Once a symbol of our wasted sparks
Now it’s just a watermark

Verse 2:
We don’t need glory to impress our families
We don’t need plastic to bring out true beauty
We don’t need consecration to stay heavenly
And we don’t need miracles to grow a commitment tree

We are faithful luminaries and we give humanity force
We are playful cemeteries where grandeur looks like a corpse
We’re gunna change the direction, we don’t worship false idols
We’re gunna corrode elections, and then we’re gunna absolve titles

Chorus:
A faded statement torn apart
A paper copy of our hearts
A ticket to dance in the dark
Now it’s just a watermark

There’s hope inside that’s still unscarred
A memory we can’t discard
Once a symbol of our wasted sparks
Now it’s just a watermark

Verse 3:
From the Sacred Heart to the Lower East
Until my faucet sprang a leak
Let the reticence spew out
Let there be peace throughout

Chorus:
A faded statement torn apart
A paper copy of our hearts
A ticket to dance in the dark
Now it’s just a watermark

There’s hope inside that’s still unscarred
A memory we can’t discard
Once a symbol of our wasted sparks
Now it’s just a watermark
